It’s no secret that Olea Kiosks is known the world over as the “Go to” company for beautiful custom kiosk designs. We’ve also manufactured a kiosk for NIKE. The way we do this involves loads of voodoo and sacrifices to the design gods. It also involves a whole lot of practice for both our Industrial Designers and myself to keep on the bleeding edge. One such technique are design exercises that I’ll throw into the design studio for them to exercise their talents. Like anyone else we get into a rut or aren’t being inspired by the jobs coming through the studio. This design was done nearly 7 years ago and still looks cutting edge today. I had given the team a stack of photos of shiny new sports cars and asked them to create a custom kiosk design that one of these companies would be proud to own. That was the birth of the “Ferrari Kiosk” concept.
Since we designed this cutting edge kiosk nearly 7 years ago it’s become a running joke in the office every time someone calls and say’s they love that “Red Kiosk” on the web-site and they want to purchase 1 of them. If you really look at the design it has some details that would require it to defy gravity to keep the base from buckling and the monitor is an aspect ratio that does not exist and even has a curve to it. The design is feasible to be built with some modifications to it. However, making just 1 of these would cost what a used Ferrari 360 costs.
